Hello,

I am new to MTConnect. I have been going through the documents of MTConnect standard. I could find info on connecting via CNC . Is it possible to connect MTConnect via PLC. Is there possibility of writing an adapter for siemens plc. Or is there any other possibility of connecting it to plc via OPC UA ? I could find the OPC Adapter but it is for OPC DA and not for OPC UA. Could anyone help me on this. I want to connect to S7-1200 plc from siemens via MTConnect. If anone has any experience on this or an tips would be great.

Thanks

I think Randy Armstrong with OPC foundation was supporting the OPC UA MTConnect Adapter, not sure though. But that should be what you are looking for. I'll see if there is something on the github.com/mtconnect repository. If not we'll try and get something posted.

Thanks

Hi..i am a new user here. As per my knowledge there are two modes to this protocol, high-speed and long-distance. When using the high-speed communication mode you can achieve 750 kbps but only at a max cable distance of 100 m. While in long-distance communication mode you can go up to 500 m of cable length but only at speeds of 93.75 kbps. Omron is the only manufacturer of this protocol.

We can help you with MTConnect adapters for S7-1200 - S7-1500 logics. Possibly also S7-300, but we haven't tested that one before. Ask for more sales@igusystem.fi

I personally use these for data collection in older machines, but practically those could be used for anything. No need for dataserver or OPC.
